Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, introduced S1939 the Agent Orange Equity Act of 2009 in the Senate on 10-27-2009. The bill will, when enacted, restore presumptive eligibility for exposure to herbicides to Veterans of the Vietnam War who served in the Blue Water Navy, the Blue Sky Air Force,
and those who served in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, all of whom were included in the original Agent Orange Act of 1991, but were later removed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Veterans Association of Sailors of the Vietnam War now has a petition for support of S1939, the Senate's version of the Agent Orange Equity Act of 2009.
